does that cut like a knife?
probably but on a concrete heart
does it still scratch a mark?
it ought not to
it better not
play not with fire
you’re a burnt child already
in a soggy quagmire.

let lines run
let lines intersect
can’t find easy answers
in a heart dissect -
summer comes summer goes
garrison yourself with arrows and bows;
someone’s unlearning, another’s lesson
for once, for now, for life
the played mistress and the playful wife.
