Maxine Field

her shirt

i keep you wrapped around me
here in the sweating dark
your shirt an absolute
swelling into safety

i trace your name in the soft
slip of your wrist
sam, sam,
will you spark with me tonight?

you take your time to let
the sun in   you take your time
i watch you in the morning
walking   washed in sleep

and know
