Nicole Farmer

poem i found in my pocket which i don’t remember writing

at three the way you would giggle when i

at four you hugged me tight, burying your head in my stomach so hard i

at five the sound of your fury; a little tantrum at your own

at twelve you were restless and frustrated at

at fourteen you shut me out of

at sixteen no forgiveness

        slip by years
            failed attempts to

i reach out and

i regret/cherish the past when

you brave the future without

could you forgive if

of thee i sing and sing and sing
